The Spirit of Tea ®

Qi White Tea Liqueur

Our second release, Qi White, is a handcrafted liqueur made from a selection of exotic oranges, herbs and spices, and the delicate new buds of white tea, a rare and prized tea with sweet and earthy overtones. The nose is orange blossom and grapefruit. On the palate, the open is vibrant orange, developing through bergamot, clove and ginger notes on a backbone of soft, white tea tannins. The finish is crisp and clear.

Bright citrus makes Qi White ideal for reinvigorating classic cocktails like Margaritas, Sidecars, and Cosmos, and for envisioning exciting new creations. Qi White has less sugar (honey in our case) than most orange liqueurs, which gives bartenders greater control over the sweetness of their cocktails, and also makes Qi White a lovely sipping drink neat, over ice, or with a splash of soda. However you choose to enjoy Qi White, may it bring the spirit of tea to your day.

About Liqueurs, Tea, and Qi

Liqueurs date back to the days of that great doctor of antiquity, Hippocrates, who added cinnamon to fermented honey to make Hippocras, which was still fashionable 2,000 years later during the reign of Louis XIV. In the Middle Ages, monks were responsible for the physical health (as well as spiritual salvation) of the people and had both the time and the gardens to experiment. They understood that alcohol preserved the healing quality of herbs, so herbal liqueurs became an important form of medicine. In short order, liqueurs also became a drinking delicacy.

Tea is grown in tea gardens and estates around the world, resulting in thousands of flavorful variations that often take their name from the district in which they're grown. Great tea, like fine wine, possesses complexity, balance, unique flavor profiles, and a long history. Tea is the most widely consumed prepared beverage on earth, and has been prized for its properties of comfort, warmth, health, and flavor since ancient times.

White tea, the tea used in Qi White, is the least processed of teas and therefore the highest in anti-oxidants, higher even than green tea. White tea consists of the delicate new buds of the tea plant, and is named after the silver hairs that give the young leaves their white appearance. White tea is known for its soft and delicate earthy flavors, and is the rarest and most prized of the major teas.
